2012 SEASON AUDITIONS

Audition Dates: SSTC General Auditions - Sunday, January 22nd from 10:00am - 6:00pm. Make an audition appointment now.
Callback Dates: The Lion In Winter: Saturday, February 11th from 10:00am -2:00pm.
Pericles and King Lear: Saturday, February 25th from 10:00am - 5:00pm.
Callbacks are by invitation only.
Audition Location: The Armory - 240 North Second Street, San Jose, Ca 95112
What to Bring: Please prepare two (2) contrasting Shakespeare monologues each no more than two minutes in length. If auditioning for The Lion in Winter only, one of your monologues may be from a contemporary play. Please bring your resume, headshot, and calendar. You may also download the audition form and fill it out prior to your arrival.
About the Season: The Lion in Winter is performed at the Historic Hoover Theatre in San Jose from June 1st - June 23rd. Shakespeare in The Park is performed in repertory (alternating performance evenings) from July 27 - September 2nd at 7:00pm Thursdays through Sundays at Sanborn-Skyline County Park in Saratoga. About Casting: . All roles are available and many actors will be cast in both Shakespeare productions. The Lion in Winter will be cast independently from Shakespeare in the Park. SSTC has an open casting policy and embraces cultural diversity in its productions. Roles traditionally played by men may also be available to women. A stipend of $200 per production is paid to all actors. Artists traveling more than 45 miles each way may be elligible for an additional travel allowance
About Rehearsals for The Lion in Winter: Rehearsals are held M-F evenings from 6:30pm - 10:00pm. Rehearsals will be held at The Armory at 240 N Second Street in San Jose and at The Historic Hoover Theatre at 1635 Park Avenue in San Jose.
About Rehearsals for Shakespeare in the Park 2012: Rehearsals are held M-F evenings from 6:30pm - 10:00pm. Fight, dance, and music calls will be held on Saturdays. Rehearsals will be held at The Armory at 240 N Second Street in San Jose, as well as at Independence High School at 1776 Educational Park Drive in San Jose and at Sanborn Park.
