Seating at Sanborn Capacity: The Amphitheatre at Sanborn Park has a maximum capacity of 400 people. Shady Shakespeare has 280 plastic folding chairs that we set out for each performance. These chairs are available on a first come first served basis. If you are coming to the theatre late, or are concerned about crowds, you may want to bring your own chair. In consideration of others, guests wishing to bring their own chairs should make sure that the backs do not exceed 30". The Front Row: On most nights we will leave the first 8' of audience space closest to the stage open for blankets and low back chairs. Low back chairs have a back no more than 24" off the ground. Due to the popularity of our Saturday performances, blankets and low back chairs cannot be accommodated in the front row. Accessibility: While the amphitheatre is wheel chair accessible, it is a bit of a bumpy ride. Ushers are on hand in the parking lot to assist our guest with special needs. Royal Seating: There are four thrones places in the theatre for our royal guests. These are usually donors of over $500.00. In the event that these seats are not reserved for a performance, they will be made available to the public for a donation of $200.00 per couple. Royal seating includes big, comfy, fluffy chairs on an elevated platform, a bottle of red or white wine or nonalcoholic beverage of your choice, and two t-shirts. (NOTE: Subscribers to Artsopolis.com may find these seats available at a substantial discount.) |
