Family Rating System
We at Shady Shakespeare pride ourselves on providing entertainment for the entire family. Due to graphic content inherent in many of Shakespeare's works, we recommend parents familiarize themselves with the plays and determine if they are appropriate for your particular child. To assist parents we have provided a rating system for our productions based on the popular rating system for video gaming.

As You Like It - Rated E for Everyone
This particular production will be set in the Regency period in the spirit of Jane Eyre. It is a fun filled romp through the forest of Arden with a fairytale ending. As in all of Shakespeare's plays, this play contains some mild violence and bawdy humor. Most of this material will go over the heads of young children. Shady Shakesepeare's production of As You Like It is good fun for the whole family.

Richard III - Rated T for Teen
Richard III is set in its historical period and SSTC's production will be true to the the Bard's depiction of this loveable villan. The play is simultaneously seductive and deadly and is not appropriate for all audiences. Parents with young children will want to remind them that the violence they see on stage is not real. A great way to help kids to understand this is to bring them early to see the actors practice their fights on stage. While Richard III is a deeply sensual play, SSTC's production will not be overtly sexual. Much will be left to the audience to imagine just how irresistable and diabolical Richard can be.
